Cherry blossoms in Japan

Many traditions and holidays in Japan have philosophical significance. The bright bloom of the cherry tree and its rapid withering are associated with the transience of human life. During cherry blossom days, Japanese residents come to parks with their families or colleagues, have picnics under the trees, admire the beautiful views, inhale the scent of flowers and reflect on life, eternity and love. City parks take on a particularly romantic look in the evening, when the trees are illuminated and the atmosphere becomes simply magical.

To maintain this beautiful tradition, the Japanese plant thousands of new trees every year in city parks and gardens. In almost every Japanese city or village you will find a large or not so large park with sakura.

You will be very lucky if your vacation in Japan falls during the cherry blossom season. It is worth keeping in mind that this tree blooms at different times depending on the region. In the southernmost parts of the country, cherry blossoms bloom in the last days of February, in Tokyo - at the end of March, and in the north of Japan - in early May. The flowering period of one tree lasts from a week to ten days.

You can try to time your trip around cherry blossom time. But the best option would be to choose tours to Japan, which specialize in this event. Then you definitely won’t miss the most beautiful Japanese holiday, visit the right parks and take home pleasant memories and truly amazing pictures.
