Take a tour of Osaka with a Russian-speaking guide. There's truly something to see here! Osaka is a vast metropolis, home to nearly twenty million people. It's also the largest economic center in Western Japan. Surprisingly, it was here, in ancient times, before Nara and Kyoto became capitals, that Japan's capital was located for a time. The small town was called Naniwa, and the capital moved with each new ruler.
You will meet your guide at your hotel in Osaka around 9 am.
Osaka is the Kansai region’s main city, a true metropolis. The city is the industrial and commercial heart of the whole Western Japan. Osaka has been playing a major role in Japan’s history ever since it was founded. Osaka’s most famous landmark, a city that rivals Tokyo, is Osaka-jo, or the Osaka Castle. It is a majestic eighth-floor structure, three of which are underground. The castle was erected in 1586 as Shogun Toytomi Hedeyoshi’s stronghold, and the main castle of Japan at the time. On the lower floor, there is a museum, exposing a medieval collection of armor, artifacts, and documents.
The next part of the trip will be visiting Osaka downtown. You will check out the famous Umeda Sky skyscraper, with its Sky Gardens observation deck located on the roof. Its unique architecture resembles hanging gardens. A must-have for any Osaka tour is walking down the legendary Dotonbori Street, the local “Broadway”. This central street of the city is famous for its exquisite restaurants and boutiques, representing the world's leading fashion brands. One may say that Donobory is a gourmet's paradise!
As your tour is completed, you get back to the hotel.
Enjoy seeing Tokyo at night! You will see the neon-lit Shibuya district, a site of famous Hollywood movies, from 'Tokyo Drift' to 'Hachiko' to 'Jumper'.
